Live Seminar: Recognizing Tactical Opportunities

Live Seminar: Recognizing Tactical Opportunities
This live seminar, taught by FIDE-Master Dalton Perrine, will consist of a 45 minute lecture, a 30 minute training session, and a 15 minute open discussion period. It is intended for players in the 1000-1400 Elo rating range, who may already be familiar with the most important tactical patterns on a theoretical level, but have trouble consistently applying that knowledge in their own games.
The instructor will show examples of typical tactical opportunities that often occur in games by players in the 1000-1400 Elo rating range. He will not only point out the tactical solutions, but also explain why they work in the given positions. This will enable the students to develop their feeling for when a tactical opportunity may be present. Students will then be given the chance to immediately apply this knowledge in some carefully selected training positions. Questions can be asked via chat throughout the seminar, but should be kept on topic except for the open discussion towards the end.
